Well, it's almost officially spring here in Illinois and that means it's decision time. As much as I hate to say it, I'm going to let my 79 xs1100F go. I went to the bike show in Chicago this past weekend and the Yamaha FJR really caught my eye. I'm at heart a sportbike guy (except for the lack of comfort) and with that I get the best of both. So....a little digging in the local shops and what do I find but an 07 FJR barely broken in at a pretty good price. I put the deposit down today and after cleaning out the garage a little that baby is going to have a good home. So here's the deal....
I have for sale a 1979 XS1100F. The standard (square gauge) one. It has 24737 miles. I have pics taken on a day last season as well as ones taken today. I just put the battery back in it after the winter and it fired right up. Not bad for a 30 year old beast. Tires are showing some age and could use to be replaced but are still usable. It has the kick starter and the tool kit, as well as highway pegs. I found those really useful on longer trips last season. The tach is wonky but a simple replacement would fix that. I don't want to part this bike as it's in good running condition. I rode it last year to and from school, work, etc. As well as took it on longer trips on the weekends.

I had gotten a fairing and backrest for it that was meant to fit a special and I thought I could make them fit but decided that I didn't want to drill new holes in the frame just to make something not meant for it fit. So in the parts section, I will be posting special parts as well.
As with anything else, PM me and we'll see if we can come to an agreement. First decent offer with $$ takes it. For a ballpark figure, somewhere around 1000-1200 is what I was hoping for. I'm located in Dekalb, IL. near Northern Illinois University.
