1980 xs1100 ???

I am attempting to revive a dead horse ! I recently aquired a 1980 xs 1100 . I can't wait to run this bike! my problem is I cannot figure out which model I have and I cant decipher the vin # is there any help for me ?

Have a look through the pictures section here . This will at least help you determine if you have a standard or a special. Post a couple of photos and we'll tell you more..

The information you need to decifer the vin # is right here on this site. Try this link!

If the vin starts with 3J6 it is a SG.

If the vin starts with 3H5 it is a G.

If the vin starts with 4H3 it is a LG.

If it does not start with one of the above combos it is not a 1980 from the US. Then use the chart.
