I am trying to restore a1982 fj1100 and would like to purchase a non-running bike for parts. Mine was in a fire so I need a lot of plastic parts.

Pops:
You might want to double-check your VIN number. The XJ 1100 and the FJ 1100 are two very different bikes, and I don't believe the FJ ever went under the Maxim name. They were both produced in '82 so there is some overlap between the two models.
Both bikes featured in-line 4 cylinder engines, but the FJ is a chain-drive bike and the XJ is shaft-driven. Let us know which one you have. Not many on this list have an FJ, but XJs do come up for sale from time to time and a few people will have a parts bike.Jerry Fields
