  • FS XS1100 Special

I got this bike from a friend about six months ago and was going to transform it into my version of a sportbike.

Well since then I have come up with some new ways to make my landspeed bike faster and the wife is pregnant with no job now so I want to sell this bike so I can work on my other bike.

It runs now and fires right up, but it needs carb cleaning/tuning as it idles up on its own to about 3-4k. Everything seems to work that I have tested with the exception of the front brakes they need to be bled and maybe even a caliper rebuild. The rear brake light is constantly on and the on/off switch has been bypassed for some reason and the horn is off of the bike. The rear brakes work and the trans seem to roll throught all gears ( I have not rode this bike ) and it goes in and out of gear and neutral while the bike is running with no problems.

All of the blinkers and hi/low beams seem to function properly and the motor sounds pretty strong. The pipes look pretty good for as old as they are and the fenders are still shiny chrome along with the head light but will need some cleaning. The paint is not as shiny as it could be but with some tlc this bike could look alot better. There are no mirrors or right side cover where the battery goes. The battery was bought yesterday so it is brand new. The front end seemd to function well as well as the rear shocks. It also has a Lockhart oil cooler with stainless braided line with what looks to be earl's fittings.

This bike isn't perfect by any means but with a little bit of minor work it could be a daily rider with no problems at all.

Please ask any question you may have. I do not know the year of the bike and I do not have a title.

    Make me a reasonable offer...........

    Scott

      Truth in advertising

I gotta' give you credit, Scott, you have given a pretty good run down on the things good and bad with this bike, and you have supplied an excellent set of photos. This low-mileage bike has the potential to be a very nice ride, but it does need some work and a few parts. It would be a shame to see it parted out, but spare parts are what keep the rest of the bikes running.

Here's hoping it finds a good home...

Thanks Ken, my old man taught me along time ago to be up front and honest with people and you will never have to look over your shoulder. He has been right all of these years.

            Mrutah12,

Thanks for the reply! I don't want to get over on anybody as far as price is concerned I just want what it is worth nothing more or less. In another thread someone said it was worth $750-$1000 since it was running.

Make me an offer and we can go from there and as far as holding how long are we talking about?
