    After Market Seat

Look briefly at the following link on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPBa2HkE_Ks&t=160s

I would like to find a seat like this or identical to it.

    Thaks.

That was a dealer installed option on the specials. SpecialEd had one on his bike, so I know it well. They ARE hard to find, and are designed for the Special ONLY. To put something like that on a standard, you will probably need to do some modification/welding on a stock seat pan.

I have one off of an '81 Special that I believe has just a small inch or so tear in the cover on an edge if I recall.

If you're interested I'll get some pics for ya.

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

BA80 uses and likes that style of seat. He has lots of LD rides using it!

I had one dealer installed and loved it. If I could find one in new condition I would sell mine in a heartbeat.

I might have one that came with a Special I bought for parts some time ago. It was not mounted on the bike when I purchased it, so I have no idea regarding fitment? I will have to go out in the shop and take a look. If I remember, it was in almost nos condition with no tears or punctures etc.

Ok. Went out to the shop. The seat I have is similar, but is not contoured on the bottom like a seat for a Special. It is more flat from front to rear like the seat on a Standard.

                It's probably for a 79 Special (XS1100SF).
