  • WTB engine side covers

I'm looking for the right and left engine side covers, The right one that covers the generator and the left one that covers the pulsar pickup/timing. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that 78 through 80 are all physically the same? I don't care about color or pattern because I will be painting them, just looking for anything that will fit onto my 80Lg midnight. Thanks

    Hi Ranger,
81 has the same shape and bolt pattern with the cosmetic groove painted black.

      Thanks Phil.
Do the 78 thru 80 also have the same bolt pattern as the midnight?

Ranger I believe the engines are all the same on the outside. as far as I know the Midnights were just cosmetic differences with Black & Gold trim and swirly wheels being the most obvious.

Hi Ronnie, Welcome to the forum...Thanks, but I found what I needed for that project. However, if you have any black or gold midnight special parts, please PM me. Thanks!

Bob... you have my curiosity aroused. Have you come across another project? As for the covers I do believe those were universal across the platform. Of course you know about the 81LH and XJs being different in their nomenclature.

Hi Cajun, Isn't it odd how this 4 year old thread popped up just when I am thinking about a new project! I've been looking for an SF and I may have potentially found one for my next project if the title can be sorted out. Fingers crossed! If and when I get it, I'll start a new build blog on my site. If not, I'll keep looking for what will likely be my final project!
