Need 81 XS11 SH Carbs

Hello, I'm finally getting back to my 81 project bike. I am in need of replacement carbs for my 81 SH. At the least I would need replacement carb bodies for #'s 3 & 4.

Are all model year carbs interchangeable?

I know there are differences but do they work on other yr bikes?

It would be best to thoroughly review the interchange link above first before you start buying parts or trying to replace those bad bodies. The early bodies should be avoided as replacements for your bad '81 #3 & #4 as they are SIGNIFICANTLY different than yours.

Personally, I've had a lot of recent experience with the various models/versions of the BS34 carbs. There are many subtle differences in all the versions. Briefly, you can with minimal effort make: '80, '81, or even XJ11 bodies work. The XJ11 #4 will need to be drilled for the spring & ball used on the choke slide of the XS, BTDT.
