Looking for Speedometer for 1982 XJ1100

Just a quick note on the XJ speedo. Some time back there was a thread on failures and it was tracked down to over-long screws uses in the assembly of some XJ speedometers. These screws put a drag on the gears causing premature failure of the brass worm gear that takes the input from the speedo cable.

An option is to use an XS11 speedo but the trip reset is in the wrong place for an XJ. A new channel can be cut to fit the speedo in the XJ instrument cluster.

My speedo had 30K on it when it failed, I then took one off the parts bike with 36K and it also failed.

I found a used set of gauges on eBay....back on the road.
