  • XJ1100 left muffler

I am looking for a left side muffler. Mine is in awesome un-rusted condition, but, it is cracked 3/4 of the way around its circumference exactly where the side stand touches it.

My guess is that the PO had a mishap that caused the side stand to slap the muffler very hard.

I am going to try to wrap a sheet of SS around the crack and use plumber clamps.

In the meantime, if someone has a good left muffler, I will be able to restore the balance of appearance.

Thanks for the link. I have looked at these. They would require some restoration. It will possibly be less work to restore my set. I will post some pictures when the driveway dries out.

Try having it welded first - that is likely better than the clamps - I know Dan and Ivan did a fine job welding up my old ones on the Navy bike that were similarly cracked.

Yes you could tell they were welded, but you could figure out some Steampunk decoration to add there maybe to hide it
