    Vetter Bags

I have multiple Vetter fairings, a couple sets of side bags and a couple trunks.
I have the correct brackets to mount them on an XS11 standard but not sure if they would need to be modified for your bike.
    Current Stable:
    1978 XS1100E - Beauty - Vetter Full Dress
1979 XS1100F - The Beast - Winter Project to Factory Full Dress
    1979 XS1100SF - Black Sunshine - The Lucky Find
    1978 XS1100E - Little Orphan Annie - Sold to a friend, slowly becoming a 1196 monster.
    WTB:
    1981 XS1100H Venturer - Long distance cruiser.

any Vetter will fit as long as you have the correct brackets...My XJ1100 had a Vetter Windjammer IV on it...

The Vetter fairing bracket is the same for all the 1100 series, XS or XJ. On the XJ you will need to relocate horns, if I recall back when I put a Vetter IV on my XJ. This required an extension of the horn wiring, not a big deal.

More problems with the saddlebags and trunk mounts if they are not XJ specific. The saddlebag brackets use the rear set (foot pegs) as part of the mount and the XJ's rear set is in a different position than either a standard or a Special. They are closer to the front set. I ended up putting a very short extension on the bracket and I believe my mounts came from a Standard. Again, not difficult if you have a few tools.

There will be some problems with the trunk mount as well. The XJ luggage rack is a bit different than the XS units and unless you have an XJ specific luggage rack you may have to do some fabricating. The Vetter trunk bracket mounts to the luggage rack with U-bolts and should not be an issue whatever rack you end up with.

Note: A rack will tend to hide the XJ's tail light. If you are concerned about visibility you may want to look into mounting a tail light further back on the fender or under the back edge of rack, somewhere where it can be seen better.

I did not have a luggage rack on my XJ but was able to modify a Honda rack to fit without much problem. I think the rack was from a 650 but it was 16 years ago so don't take this as gospel. Rack came from a boneyard and was off the bike when I bought it; the owners said they thought it was from a 650.

I guess what I am saying is that if you can't find XJ specific mounts other XS11 mounts can be modified with little effort to fit.
