  • XS1100sg - Various Parts Needed

    XS Guys,
I need a BUNCH of stuff for my Ugly Duckling. Hopefully, I can put some $$ in your pockets instead of evil-bay. This is the first post of what will certainly become many.......

I've made a "block-off" plate as my bike came without this component. I'm guessing this is the sensor location for my "Put gas in me you idiot light"

This was probably sold on e-bay before I got the bike.

Seems someone REALLY needed some choke Must have pulled the lever so hard it snapped off. Pretty crappy welding it do say so.....

Obviously, this isn't gonna work too good. I've been using a punch to push the contact and start the bike. If you've got one in crappy shape that I can pull the missing pieces from that would be fine.

I assume a PO didn't have a small enough tool. This does not seem to effect performance but it sure looks like poooo. A stripped carb body would be fine if you have one. Not too familiar with switching these from spot to spot due to the bowl connectors but I am sure it can be done. RT Outboard body would be preferred to limit complications.

Last for today, but certainly NOT least. I gotta get my buns on a seat! What ya got? I can get a new cover or have it recovered but the seat pan must in in great shape.

Please let me know if you can help with the "Ugly Duckling".

    Sincerely,
    Kurt

Seat~GOT IT!, Fuel Sensor~Got IT! Harness~GOT IT!, Headlamp Parts GOT EM!

    XS Folks,
I appreciate that ya'll did some looking around for these parts. THANK YOU!

Andreas found me a seat, and I anxiously await delivery from Canada.

The right side control was repaired using parts I purchased from Andreas. So I no longer need to use a punch to push the start button and the kill switch works properly too. Thanks Andreas.

I found a fuel sensor on Evil-Bay for a reasonable $20 and snatched it up. It showed yesterday and works nicely.

The wiring harness (posted in another thread) was received from an Evil-Bay seller in North Carolina and it works PERFECTLY. Everything on the bike seems to work.

The Honda headlamp bucket has been replaced with the proper Yamaha unit. Unmolested fork ears and proper turn signal mounts have also been installed.

I'm still hunting for a nice choke lever but the "Ugly" one I have is functional and fits the "Ugly Duckling" well at the moment.

The buggered up carb is also "Ugly" but does not appear to be effecting performance. So it will also do for the moment.

Although I'll certainly be needing more parts.......There is no major used functional part needed that I am aware of. My charming bride has asked that I back-off the XS11 purchasing for a little while and I agreed. However, I won't pass up an extra hard to find part if it appears.

    Thanks again folks,
    KURT

Remember too, those are the earlier 80 carbs with the 'off-set' enricher lever. The later 80-81 carbs have the vertical lever set-up AND different casting mount locations. BTW, the FUBARED carb pictured is #1.

Correction of my enricher mounting statement. The base mount portion locating holes are all the same on the 80-81 carbs.

Looking at the photo I believe that it is a number 4 not 1.
1 is far left 4 is the last one on the right.
