Hi, I have a set of 4 into 2 headers that need to be sandblasted. The mufflers are total junk. I'm not sure what brand the are, but they are not stock. I can send you pics, if you email me......avan1964@yahoo.com. I'm in Michigan, so the shipping might be pricey.

I have two sets. One set came off a 1979 xs1100 special. It has a larger dia pipe. The other complete set came off a 1980 xs1100 SG. They welded the mufflers on.
Now I have to figure out how to post pictures.

Do you mean Youtube or Photobucket here? Personally I find photobucket to be the easiest. The instructions sound right, but I have not uploaded a photo for a long time. I may not be the best one to explain how either. There is a thread here about how to load pics. A little search should provide the answers.
I probably have six or seven sets of headers around here and at least one set is off a Midnight Special. Problem is shipping from here to anywhere seems too much.

Be aware too that the 80Standard collector(and likely earlier Standards) end had a bit of pipe to do slip-ons. The Specials and Venturer's pipes collector end was just that, nothing to slip over.
If pipes #1 and #4 are off a special, a stubby 2 or 3in. piece expanded on one end from a local muffler shop, then butt welded to collector would give the slip-on option.

Above is what I have. The 1979 has one end that does not have a lip of it. I would like to use them but I am afraid they will leak. I think I will get it running with the pipes that were welded. Maybe I will paint them black. They might look better. I am glad the site is back.
Thanks.

First set looks to be a set of MAC 4 into 2 set, which should easily accept a different set of mufflers. A little paint, ceramic coating, or header wrap and luck would make them work.
The second set appears to be the sought after Jardine spaghetti headers. If you could get the dents out and make them look presentable, you will love them. They do look pretty far gone though, so cost may be too much to worry about them.
Last I knew of the only new ones available were the X-pipe and not sure if they really are. They run about 600 bucks though.

If you look at ther third picture the lip on the end of the pipe is gone. Will this still seal? New ones are way too much. Where can I get a set of MAC mufflers or some that will fit?
That lip should be attached to an approx 3" long insert. It is belled out so it will seal and inserted far enough to slow down discoloring of the exhaust. It may be possible to have a muffler shop make you one, but the sizing may be an issue. Best guess is that it has a 50/50 chance of sealing at best and I would not trust it as pictured.
I almost bought a set from a member but i declined due to the very same issue. As money is tight I would suggest trying to get one of the other inserts out and take it to someone who may be able to make it. Trying to find another will be next to impossible as they came with the header kits when you bought them.

Hi Bill,
The missing lip will not compress the gasket to create a seal. atleast not for long and then you will be stuck at he side of the road like I was.
You could weld a collar on the end if the rest of the system is in good shape.
