  • 79 special side covers; oem mirrors; fuse box

    Hello:

I am in the process of returning the bike to road duty, and I looking for some parts.

~ Not sure if anyone has a black '79 special left side cover available; mine has the bottom clip and one of the tab slots broken. Wouldn't mind a full set of side covers, either, as the right's side latching portion is rather worn.

~ A set of the rectangular mirrors, anyone?

~ Or how about a set of tank emblems? Not looking for restoration quality; just ones that are not cracked with reasonable paint remaining on them.

~ Fuse box: Time or carelessness apparently broke all the tabs on my fuse box, resulting in a prior owner creating a new "harness" as shown in the photos.

Does anyone have a fuse box (with lid) in their parts pile? Or is this something where I should just consider purchasing an aftermarket part, including the center sticker diagramming what fuse belongs where?

I am located in Lincoln, NE. Thanks!

Here are a couple of tech tips with options for replacing the fuse box.

I have a fuse box from TC on both my XJ650 and XJ11. The tech tip above has details on purchasing from him.

      Prothec,

Thanks for pointing out those directions; that looks like a solid set of options from which to choose!
