'79 XS1100 SF Engine or complete bike

I've seized the engine on my bike and was able to keep the bike up.

I'm looking for an engine or a complete new bike. I've heard the engines for some of the years of the XS1100's are interchangeable so I believe a '78 or '80 XS1100 engine might work. Let me know if i'm wrong.

    Thank You!

    bike or engine

    Mad Max,
We talked a while back about an engine or bike,
I will have a 78 standard for sale in the near future and I also have a couple of other 1100's available that have the second gear issue so if your tranny was good it could be installed in the engines/bikes ?
The good part is that I am in Denver also.
Send me a p.m.if you are interested
    Joe

      Seized Engine

I'm pretty sure my engine is seized because there is a piston rod sticking up from the engine case just in front of where the VIN is located on the engine. I'll try and take a pic.

The rear tire locked at 70mph and I was able to keep the bike up.

I believe this makes it a seized engine
