Yes marty, I did, but thanks for putting that out there. He was the first one I tried. He probably has everything but a 79 seat. I could get mine recovered but I want an original. I think the double bucket just don't look right on the special.Jeff

What you could do, is remove the double bucket cover from the pan, assuming it's the correct one, and recover it. Saddlemen Saddle Skins Motorcycle Replacement Seat Cover

Could I recover it to look like an original or are the buckets made in the foam of the seat? I thought about just recovering my double bucket but man that thing made my butt hurt on the sunday ride xseast.lolWhat you could do, is remove the double bucket cover from the pan, assuming it's the correct one, and recover it. I also thought about recovering it and also finding the original so my wife could ride on the bucket one and I could use the original type when by myself.

The seat on your bike at XS East appeared to be the 80/81 type. The '79 cover won't fit the later pan.Marty (in Mississippi)

It may be marty. I had it loose because we were going to synch my bike when I got there and never tightened it up so it kept sliding a little. If an 80/81 would fit as good as that one, I would take one of those in a regular seat. It may not fight exactly right but would still function until I could find a 79.Jeff

I was just going through CL postings today and saw a '79 Special with the saddleman seat, but he also had the original seat as well. Tons of XS11's for cheap in Michigan.1979 XS1100F
