  • '79 Special Headlight Innards

I have a good (not rusted!) '79 Special chrome headlight shell but I need the parts that go inside of it to actually make it into a headlight:

    Chrome ring
    Retaining ring
    Lens/reflector assembly
    Mounting ring
    Bulb and socket
    Electrical connector pigtail
    Assorted screws, springs, widgets, etc.

I asked Andreas and a couple of others but I may need to go to eBay or try an aftermarket headlight. I was using one borrowed from a friend's CB900 and I have to give it back so "Bush" gets a headlight of her very own.

    Scott,

Mike's XS has that stuff. Most of the headlight parts other than the bucket are the same as the XS650.

      Thanks, Marty!

I was actually kind of hoping to not spend ~$100 for a complete new headlight

or over $70 for a new lamp/lens/reflector assembly and chrome ring, then still need the two mounting rings and the adjusting screws, springs and nuts for the 'stock '79 shell.
