  • 78 tach electrical connection

I bought a replacement tach on the internet. I guess I did not read carefully enough, or they did not tell the truth. Either way, it came with the connector plug cut off. I am not sure how many of us would save a totally worthless tach, but if you are like me, you just might.

Looking for the plug and enough wire to attach where the old one was cut off.

      OEM

I know I can splice it in, but just want to make it look good.

I'm pretty sure this is what you would need:

http://vintageconnections.com/ -> Price list from menu -> scroll way down

        HP6N Non-Latching Set
        Beige ABS

        6-pin 2.8mm (0.110") spade-based non-latching M/F ABS Connector Shell Pair, with 7 each M28/F28 crimp terminals (Beige only)

Correct for early Datsun under-dash use.

        $3.00

I believe they have a minimum $5 order and shipping looks reasonable.

Edit: I have never ordered from that site, so this isn't an endorsement of any kind. If you do order from them, perhaps you can post about it in the Product Evaluations or Links sections.

I've ordered many things from them. Good site. No gimmicks. The alternative is Geezer's Oregon Motorcycle parts site.

I would have suggested Geezer, but he doesn't have this particular connector listed on his site. If it were me, I'd probably just replace the pair with whatever I have laying around, but there's already little stock about my harness.

Then I'll suggest a GM weatherpak connector.

I have used Vintage on more than one occasions and had great success. Not sure if Tony (Geezer) is back up in operation yet.
