  • Euro XS Foot Pegs.

I am sure that the Euro foot pegs are rarer than hen's teeth.

Next best thing: Anyone have some good clear focused images, close up for detail? Clean side shot and looking straight down and maybe a front-on shot.

Just asking to see if anyone can help.

    Peace, Wolf

    Not over here they ain't

Would it not be easier to buy some over here, I can organise shipping if the seller won't ship overseas.

I know I have a few odds and sods, not enough to make up a set, and they'll need refurbing.

There may even be some Uk club lads that have spares lying around, dya want me to ask?

      Hello Tom B

I kinda figured they were more common over there, just not sure about availability these days.

Do you have a good image of the mount/base? I see a set on Epray that have an odd mount/base. The seller claims are for an 1978 XS1100 but not sure which subtype.

Maybe you can look at them and tell me?

They're for the 5K7, known as the Sport in Europe, the Sport is basically a MNS Special with a small fairing and different seat and rearset footrests + other little detail changes. The SPort has the most rear set footrests and controls of all XS11's

He has the rare short brake pedal and gear change cover to go with those rests as well

            OK

That is good news tom. I like the idea that they will fit my Special foot rest mounts. The other style of foot pegs have two close set holes and I would have to buy the mounts to mach those holes.

I will prolly snap up these pegs.

Crap! I just spotted the "No International Postage" deal. Crap!

Anyone in the UK want to purchase them for me and drop them on a boat headed across the big pond to the west?

I would be willing to cover costs. )

Whoa slow down Wolf, I know the Sport uses a frame like the Special, the rear frame rails are slightly different but that shouldn't affect the footrests, however sliding the footrests in between the frame engine mounts and ali brackets as the Sport has them may need some trimming of a Special ali brackets. I think the 5K7 Sport uses the same ali brackets as a XJ11, I own both bikes and they look the same but the frames may be slightly different to accomodate the different footrests.

Those round straw roof huts were in Northern Germany, it was the annual Euro XS11 rally hosted by one of the Northern German XS clubs, the huts had real comfy cots, all you took with you were a sleeping bag, a great weekend. Coz we didn't need any camping gear apart from a sleeping bag I went on my monoshock bike (parked up behind the Sport), no luggage capacity other than the seat hump

The fairing is a genuine XS11 fairing that they came with new, they also have a 8" headlight, (which is absolutely crap )

                  PM sent about shipping Wolf

                    Tom

I measured the gap between the engine mounts and the Aluminum (Ali?) brackets. I got .772 in. on the right and .789 in. on the left. The images of the rests for sale on Ebay look to be a little thinner, if need be I can turn some spacers.

I have "committed to buy" the rests on Ebay and just need you to PM me your addy to finish paying. Then we can work out the rest of the journey. )

I'm looking to convert a 78e standard. Did I read that right that one has to convert to special "ali brackets"? Then you need a shifter and short brake lever.

List of parts: Peg mounts, brackets?, shifter, brake lever. Is that correct?

I'm in Canada. Anyone interested in helping a Canuck out?

                          Hello Orange 4

I will help you as much as I can. I kinda stalled out on my project right after I received the peg mounts from Tom B. I have been dealing with aging parents and other life issues. Hoping to get back on track with my project, in time for next spring.

AFAICT the aluminum brackets are fine, I may need to turn some spacers in my case. I powder coated the adapter pieces to match the frame which I also have powder coated (Silver).

The rear brake foot pedal does need to be shortened, that is the last thing I have yet to do.

The big trick may be to find the shift lever and linkage that goes with it. Have you sourced those yet? When I first saw a set on Ebay, I thought what was that all about? after a short bit of research, I discovered the rearward peg stance and immediately wanted them.

                          Peace, Wolf
