    Rear master for 79 Special

    Hey all,

    Does anyone happen to have a rear master cylinder for a 79 Special? I went to rebuild mine and it turns out I have the oddball 14mm master instead of the standard 1/2inch and there does not seem to be rebuild kits available.

    you can but the cups and seals from napa
    careful what you wish for.........you might get it

      FYI, I believe the rear master is the same for all of the bikes with the exception of the 81 MNS and the XJ. They got a linked braking system.

      I have the entire rear brake system. Been sitting a few years, so I will need to look at it and see if it needs cleaning first.

        Yes, it is supposed to be the same cylinder on all the bikes but some have an oddball 14mm bore instead of the standard 1/2inch. There are several threads on the board about it, it is a small number and I'm one of the lucky ones.

        I will see what I can find at Napa, thanks for the tip.
