  • Buy XS1100 Carbs

I'm looking to buy a set of XS1100 carbs. I'd preferably like to buy a set of 79's but I'll take them from any year. PM me and let's make a deal.

Also, buy a standard gas tank. The "squarer" looking one from 78, not the rounded one.

I've a buddy in South America right now but he has couple 78 or so racks that he asked me to try and sell when he gets back to Milwaukee later this month. I think he wanted me to put them on eBay. Might also have a tank ? May be ?

XS Eleven 1978-79 Carbs and Carb parts

I have several used complete un-cleaned sets (not assembled) and even more bodies, brackets, slides, jets, springs, tops, choke apparatus, needles, etc.. I would be more than happy to sell whatever anyone may need as I have jut TOO MUCH xs11 stuff stored over the years and need the space. I have a 78 myself and just love these machines. I am dedicated to keeping these, and many other brands of these vintage vehicles on the road. There is virtually no part I don't have. We professionally restore the carbs and have been for many, many years. If anyone has a need for a particular part or parts, just IM me and we can see what happens. I guarantee the price will be VERY nominal. I sell on Ebay under Spydercycleworks. Check out the offerings and you will see our commitment to excellence. I have sold to some of y'all on the forum already with great results. We won't be beat. All parts are cleaned before shipment and are basically plug and play. Check us out. You will be surprised at the low price of our quality items. Just IM me and let's rock-n-roll.

I've already posted a warning on this forum regarding my experience with Spydercycleworks. Having read your post, Spyder, I feel obliged to post again on this subject.

I paid for a set of your 'reconditioned' carbs for my XS1100. I paid import duty to get them into the UK but thought it would be worth it.

I received a set of carbs from you which were as follows:

*. All four float bowls were not screwed tightly onto the carbs. Fuel immediately gushed out and.....

        * ..removed all the gas-soluble paint that you had used to paint the carbs and mounting bar with. I still don't know why you painted the carbs in gas soluble silver paint and the mounting bar in a gold colour. The paint instantly bubbled off once the leaking gas touched it. An odd choice of paint for a carb

        * Even after I screwed the float bowls on properly, the bowls overflowed with gas

        * one carb had a mixture screw and spring completely missing

        * All four carbs were contaminated with a very fine, greyish black powder..it looked like some sort of grit. The butterfly valves would not close properly due to grit contamination.

I emailed you immediately to find out why you had sent me such a mess. I explained, as above, what was wrong with the carbs. You replied with a four word response which was.... "I don't get it" . On my insistence that you do something about it, u sent me a three word email.."send them back".

Fortunately, I had paid you by Paypal. I returned the carbs to you and you agreed to a refund of my original payment. I then said you should also pay the return shipping costs and you finally did this.

The above experience cost me the import duty which I paid to get the carbs into the UK and I still don't know why on earth you sent me such a mess. Perhaps you could explain here?

'Plug and play'? I think not.

A couple of points which I forgot to mention in the post above...all the T joints between the carbs leaked gas..all of them. I had naively put your ''plug and play'"'carbs directly onto my bike and turned the fuel taps on. Fuel gushed out everywhere..from the T's, all four float bowl gasket joints and the mouths of two carbs. It went all over the place, with the immediate result of removing all the previously mentioned paint.

I removed the float bowls prior to tightening the screws correctly as they should have been in the first place. Two of the float pins were half seized up with the gritty substance I mentioned, meaning that the float valves did not close off the fuel supply...hence it gushing from the two carb mouths.

I've been on this forum a long time, Spyder, and I think people know that I am a non-confrontational, non-aggressive member who sticks to the facts. I regard members of this forum as internet friends who share a common passion for the XS1100. So, since you have chosen to advertise your services here, I feel duty bound to report exactly what my experience with Spydercycleworks (purchased via eBay) was.

                1980 XS110SG For sale. $100

I have a 1980 XS1100SG for sale. $100 for bike but would be willing to sell parts. The bike has not ran for many years but ran great when parked. Like an idiot i let the bike set for too long then bought a second XS. I used some parts but engine is complete. I took carbs off to help preserve them.
