  • 80 SG seat wanted

Was some time ago someone had a seat for an 80 SG. I got a bit mixed up thinking the 80SG was the same as the 81LH. Want to get rid of the hump on the 81 LH but it's just been recovered and I hate to cut it up.

    Thank You ! Done };-)

Seat base is the same configuration.

      80 SG seat

      Hi Motoman !

Yes but the 80 SG is a little flater in the foam and I need room to move back a bit. Through I must say the high hump on the 81 LH keeps me in place under hard accel. For that I like it but for long trips the forward position makes me start to squirm around trying the stretch my legs and change my seating arrangements.

The 'shorty' crash bars and road pegs are gonna be needed for any LD trip either way as you'll find out.

          First XS1100

When I got my new 79 XS1100 SF I put 280 mi. on going to visit my sister and no problems with comfort, all stock except for cruise control. Though I did have a sleeping bag strapped to the seat to lean against, set the cruise, lean back, look ma no hands for more than half the trip there on the slab. Then I ran into that grooved pavement and got scared grabbed the bars, after a bit I found I could manage it with no hands. Comfy seat wish a 79 Special would fit, suppose a 79 seat could be cut to fit.

IIRC, 79 had alot of things that were specific for fit just to that year/model, seat being one with the base havin' a recess for the TCI location on the 79's. As for 'lookmanohands', I digress....

                79 SF seat

I have the SF seat if that will work for you. It has a good frame and foam, but will need recovered.

Text Kevin @ 2176221930 if interested.

SF seat won't be the same as an SG seat.

If the mounts for the SF and SG match up could the pan and foam be cut to fit the SG Saddleman cover ? ? ?

Thank You All ! Done };~)
