  • Valve Shims would be great.

I need a few shims for my '79xs1100F

    Specifically a 280, 2-270's, 245, and 2-255's

I've seen a few posts offering these at times and was
wondering if anyone had these available before I go hunt
them down and spend $20 or more per shim.

This site is phenomenal! It's great to be here.

There is an ATvV website that sells shims for $5 each. Google 29 mm valve shim and it pops up, can't think of it though right now.

Try other motorcycle shops in your area, My BMW dealer here sold me used 29mm shims for $8.

Some motorcycle shops will just even trade shims out of a bucket.

I had a big box motorcycle dealer do that for me, back in the service dept.

Very cool, thanks for the input. I guess if I could purchase some from
fellow xs'ers it could "stay in house".

I'll look around and see about picking up some extras in case anyone
else needs any in the future.

One site I did find was http://www.z1enterprises.com/ListIte...04030200000000

They claim to have shims for $6.60 a piece.

            Thanks again.
