  • Looking for a few parts for my 79' XS11F

    Here's a list of what I'm after..
And like most on this site I'm on a budget...

    1) Fork brace (I emailed tkat and got no response)
    2) center stand
    3) side covers
    And
    4) a seat pan (I am going to try to repair mine first but not crossing my fingers)

    Thanks
    79 XS11F.

    Thought of something else.....

Ok, because I not want to spen $68 each as the Yamaha dealer quoted...

I am in need to some front foot-peg rubber, both sides. Or at a minimum some reference as to a good inexpensive replacement aftermarket part.

    Thank you and good day

That's odd, I emailed tkat about a month ago to get a price on a fork brace and got a quick response. I was upfront about not being ready to buy too, just needed a ballpark price for my budget.

I also have had great response from Tkat when asking for updated pricing in the past. Finally sent him the money order and the brace arrived within 10 days via the post office. Excellent workmanship, installed in 5 minutes.

The centerstand shouldn't be any problem, but it does need to be off a 'standard' if you still have the OEM exhaust; look here: http://www.xs11.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=78

Sidecovers will be tough; watching eBay will be your best bet if you get no response here (getting rare...), you may have to settle for a pair that need fixing.

Same thing goes for the seat; finding non-rusty pans is getting harder and harder. There is a company in England that sell new reproductions, but they're not cheap.

As to footpeg rubber, try here: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/ya...423-00-00.html This is just the cover and will have to be glued on, otherwise back to eBay....

I've emailed twice now with no response. I even checked my junk mail folder to be sure. But thanks for the other tips.
