    You sure your kick starter isn't still stowed under the battery where it is supposed to be? Many find it there and never even knew it was there.

        There would be a wing nut on the down tube just behind where the kick start shaft on the engine is. If you remove the wing nut then you can pull the kick start lever out if it is there.
