Don't tease, you should post some pics of that bike.

Same hear, doubt I'll ever get the wife on this LH without back support, let alone keep her on if I get frisky ? ? ?
You most likely heard of the man that rode his wife to town on his HD ?
When he got to town no wife on the back ? Rode back the same way he came and there she was right by the side of the railroad tracks.

I bought it from a friend last October. He is a member of this site... at least he used to be. It has 28k miles, new tires, reupholstered seat, everything else is original. I've been doing quite a bit of research on XS1100's all winter long, and this site is awesome. I think I've read almost every article here.

I was on ebay, and noticed that there is a guy that is parting out a 1981 LH. I don't need any parts at the moment, but I'd hate to miss out on any parts that I might need in the future.

Any advice on what parts I should buy for future use?

                Looking for an XS

                79 XS1100SF (RIP)
                - stock standard headers(stupid PO), slip-on after-market mufflers.
                - after-market rear shocks (PO installed)
                - no airbox, POD filters

                Misery remembered is ADVENTURE!

I've got one I'm looking to sell. It's off of an '80 SG, so should fit. The underside of the rack has some rust, but it's not really apparent at a glance -not sure if it's what you have in mind or not. Here are a few pics:

                  Front:

                  Back:

                  Underside of rack:

Price I'd be looking to get would be $45 plus shipping. Does that sound like a reasonable price for it?

                    Hi Erik,

Thanks for the reply. I may have found one that came off of an LH, so that would be my preferred back rest. The guy is sending me a picture, so if it looks like crap, I'll go ahead buy yours.

                    Thanks,
                    Adam

                      Hi Adam,
I've received another inquiry about it, but since I offered it to you first, I'll hold it for a day or two while you make your decision between this one and the other rest. If I don't hear back from you before noon on Saturday, I'll assume that you've bought the other one and put mine in the mail to the other guy. Does that sound fair?

                      -Erik

                        Hi Erik,

Absolutely fair. I would do the same. The guy is supposed to get the pictures today, so hopefully I'll know by end of business today.

I tried getting on yesterday and Friday, but it seemed that the website was down (or my ISP was being dumb). Anyway, go ahead and sell it to the other person, and thank you for holding it for me. I didn't know any other way of getting the message to you.

                          Thanks Again,
