    Backrest or luggage rack with backrest

    I am looking for a Backrest or luggage rack with backrest, or trunk with backrest for my 1979 XS1100 Special.

    I had a trunk with backrest, but the trunk portion where it connects to luggage rack broke, so now I just have a luggage rack.

    Was it the trunk itself that broke, or the mounting bracket? What kind of trunk did you have? If it was a Vetter, you can make a new mounting bracket out of strip steel from home depot. I had to do that because the pre-drilled holes in the OEM bracket from Vetter didn't line up with any possible options on my luggage rack.

      Hi Stephen.
      If you look at parts for sale on backrest with rack, you will see what I am selling.
      I just bought it thinking it would fit my 79F but it does not. It was MY fault, am not blaming the seller on it. We both had others saying it would fit.
      Feel free to call my cell tomorrow after 9AM and we can discuss. I can send pictures over the phone, which is easier for me than photobucket. It is brand new !!!

          OOooppss !!!!!

          My apologies to all involved.
          Last night I kept focusing on the length of the arms in the rack. On mine, they extend all the way to the shock mounting studs. I put mine side by side with the one I had bought and it was definitely not going to fit.
          This morning I saw a picture of Steppenwolf's bike, a special, and I saw the arms did not go on the shock studs but closer to the rear holding points. I went back to the garage and found those mounting brackets on the frame. Guess what, IT FIT !!!
          Again my apologies. Sorry I doubted you all's knowledge. Ha!!
          Sorry Stephen, I don't have one for sale. Good luck, hope you find one as nice as this one is.

            I have this one. It came off my 79 special. Not sure what its worth though. If you're interested let me know and ill figure out a price.
