  • WTB Big Nut For Bottom Seat Bolt.

Does anyone have an extra nut, or know where I can get one?
I lost one of the nuts that bolt the seat down on my 80SG.
I'm sure I can find a regular nut that will fit it, but in order to be able to reach it easily, I need one of the not so common long ones that come on it originally.
(I just re-read what I typed, and I just realized how odd it is to ask for an extra nut)...
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    80 SG

    Seat Hold Down Bolt Assembly

Not sure what you have but this is what's supposed to be there:

The Threaded Collar aka "Big Nut" is only threaded part way, as seen in the first pic, and that smoothe bore section of the nut allows room for the swedged end of the bolt. The swedged end, in a good assembly, won't permit the "Big Nut" to drop off when unscrewed to its limits.

I apologize for dangling the carrot but this one belongs on my '79SF and I don't have an extra but if all you have is a bolt take it down to the hardware or NAPA an ask for a Threaded Collar Please

I used stainless M8 stud connector nuts, you need to drill out half the thread, and they're 13mm AF instead of Yamaha 14mm AF originals

I swapped mine out for wing nuts a while back, but I'm thinking about going back to the original nuts because it has become difficult to get the wing nuts to torque down hard enough to stay put. Unfortunately, I have no idea where the original ones went... I may try my hand at creating them myself.
