  • Need 2H7 TCI

I have an 82 xj100, with a 79 2H7 engine. To resolve some issue with backfiring and reving high at idle, need to replace the 10m TCI with a 2H7 TCI. If anyone has a working one for sale, please let me know what you want for it.

If you still have the xj engine around just pull the ignition parts off from under the timing cover and put them on the xs engine. That wouldn't cost anything if you happen to still have the old engine around

I bought it with the 79 engine installed in the 82 frame. It has the 82 10m TCI module. I have been told by a couple people on the forums that the easiest way to fix the issue would be to take out the 10M TCI and replace it with the
2H7 TCI. Hence why I am trying to find a 2H7 TCI

If you don't have the engine yet then yeah swapping for a 2h7 TCI is the easiest.

79 engine was installed by PO. PO used TCI from the 82 xj. Getting backfiring, reving to 5k rpm at idle.

Thanks all for the replies/offers everyone, I appreciate it. I was able to find one at a motorcycle junkyard here in MN for a decent price. Going to put it on tonight to see if it helps
