Welcome first off!
Second, there is no '82 XS11. Could be an '81 register as '82 or it is an '82 XJ11. Carbs are similar but different. So we need to know for sure what you have. VIN number or pics of the bike will tell for sure.
Third, any carbs you get will need a little or a lot of cleaning, and all carbs will need to be synced and tuned to your bike. So why do you say your carbs are junk?Nathan

The carbs themselves are interchangable from any XS11 or the XJ11. The one major difference on the XJ is the choke mechanism. So, you could put 78-81 XS1100 carbs on your XJ, but the choke would no longer work like factory. You would need to pull the lever on the side of the carbs like the rest of the XS crowd.
Now, putting the XJ carbs on an XS is a little more intricate as you need to rig up a way to work the choke.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.
