  • Stainless bolts

I am wanting to replace the screws on the caps of my carbs and the rail that holds the rack together with stainless Allen bolts. I had to cut slots in the originals to remove them. Anyone have a good source for these?

    Try this eBay seller 'stainlesscycle'....

Decent price, less hassle than going and buying them yourself. He also sells engine kits for the XS/XJ too...

I just swapped all my cheap screws by takng one i pulled out to tractor supply and matching it with the original. i put Hex bolts on the float covers and cap head screws for the top. These were for my zrx carbs but i can't imagine them not having it for the xs carbs...

        stainless is nice

But, you can use cheaper allen head screws, and/or machine bolts with hex heads. The problem isn't really rust. it's those damn phillips screw heads.

Having bought a set of the SS cap screws for a set of XS carbs, that SS set Steve linked to is cheaper by far. I believe I spent over $30 on the screws. And sold the set of carbs, so now mine still need to be changed.

The eBay kit includes only the bolts for the caps and the bowls. It comes up short. I got mine from McMASTER-CARR. You usually have to buy 100 of ea. You can supply all of your XSive friends, or put together your own kits to sell on eBay.

Just bought a set on eBay from the seller Steve listed. Probably should have bought 2 sets.
