I'm trying to find a set of hard bags that will fit either a 1979 XS11 Special or Standard.
Also trying to find a grab rail for the 1979 Special.

Still looking for the grab rail and hard bags.
The grab rail for the special is the one made out of round stock that bends at 135 degrees back, as opposed to the one that's like 45 degrees for the standard and made out of rectangular metal.
Anyone know if that is correct?Levi

grab rail
the 79 special grab rail is unique to the bike. I have seen them on 80 standards, also.
It's not the same rail as on the 78E & 79F that bolts onto the seat. it's bigger & mounts to frame.
When you talk about a square one I think you might mean th 80-81 special grab bar. Kinda ugly compared to the 79SF. i took mine off my 80 special.Tom Clisham

This if I am correct is the '79 special and its stock grab rail.
This is a '78-'79 standard with its grab rail.
And this is the other later grab rail.

arhd bags and crash bar for 79 xs11
i have the hard bags and the crash bar the goes around them the need a little work i can sebd u pics if u want ill let them go cheap .
