WTB 78 or 79 Stock Special Speedo Gauge

Looking for a 78 or 79 I dont care about the mileage but it should be in decent condition. The Female square drive in mine is stripped so I just need a useable one to get me on the road. Some one let me know what you have. Please no unreasonable prices. Paypal ready

Round gage is only on the Special models, no special made in 78. They are interchangable form 79 all the way through the 81. Even the MNS gages will work on your Special, but they will be black instead of chrome. Only the 79 had the 160 MPH speedo, the rest are 85 MPH.

Good nes is, you can use one from an XS650 or XS750/850. They do not have 160 MPG but 120 or 140 IIRC.

unreasonable is a very subjective term, you may want to define the dollar range your looking in. I typically go look on fleabay for the "going rate" for parts to determine a reasonable value.

The outer housing is what is a different color. The actual speedo itself is the same.

I have one that fuctions perfectly, but the body of the speedo is plastic, and cracked, making one of the two mounting studs impossible to tighten all the way. You can have it for shipping if you like. It has the flat-style bulbs in it, and has an 85mph top end.
