Fork Brace

Have an 80' Special and would like a fork brace. Am I limited to tkat due to it being a special? Anyone have one for sale? Any ideas? thanks

Not exactly sure what is meant there.........TKat does them for both the Standard and Special to comensate for the millimeter size difference of tha lower fork leg and the forward offset difference between the Special and the Standard. The Bay occassionally has different older styles pop up, but that's a crap shoot cause most sellers there don't have a clue to the size difference even though it'll be shown for an XS1100. Cost wise, besides the risk of getting the correct one, your best option IMO is Tkat knowing when it shows in the mail, just bolt it on knowing it IS correct.

I'm not sure how much $ this will save, but it's a reputable dealer. I think I prefer the TKAT brace, but truthfully, I don't think I'd notice if it was swapped to this one.

Depending on how his prices are running this year, that one is not much if any cheaper than the TKat piece.

Hi, What I was saying is that I have seen other braces available but not for the Special model. I have been looking on Ebay for 9 months and never did see one for the Special. You're likely right, Tkat may be the way to go

The TKat brace is aluminum and polishes up nice and shiny.
Just saying in case that suits the look of your bike better than black
