The few here who have tried buying 'ready to go' carbs haven't had much luck...
They spent big $$ and ended up redoing them anyway. Even if the rebuild is done properly, you'll still have to check the float levels (the floats get knocked out of adjustment in shipping) and do a full sync/idle mixture/idle speed adjustment as that's different for every bike.
For that kind of money, you can buy a complete rebuildable rack and all the tools/supplies needed to rebuild/adjust them and likely have money left over.... If yours aren't boogered up/broken, you'll save a couple hundred $....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

It was me. Those carbs were the shoddiest, most incomplete job I have ever seen. Missing parts on receipt (air screw + spring entirely missing). All four float bowls weren't tightened up and leaked immediately, bringing off the paint that had been used on the carb bodies and joining bar. After tightening, one carb flooded like crazy. All four throttle slides stuck due to GRIT in the carb bodies and I found blasting grit in all four carbs. It was an atrocious job for which no explanation was every forthcoming. I got a refund of my purchase price + one way shipping but had to pay out myself for return costs of $80 (international) and also import duty of approx $90 to get them into the UK. There is absolutely no way that a bike would ever run with those carbs.
I asked several times how these carbs could possibly have been sent to me like that and my question was ignored. I received one message which merely said "I don't get it".
I would strongly advise you not to deal with this sellerLast edited by James England; 03-03-2012, 03:31 PM.XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs.
