    Engine Covers

    Looking for a right side(stator cover) and left side(ignition cover) for a 79 XS1100F engine. I need these to be in nice shape as they are going to be sent out for polishing. Not interested in corroded,cracked or tarnished junk. Please let me know what you might have that would be suitable. I know whats on Ebay but thought there might be someone here that has what I am looking for. And if you have a set thats already polished,all the better!

    Bob, as long as the covers aren't cracked, road-rashed or gouged, they can be brought back to like-new condition. Anything else can be polished out....

      Do you have a set in decent condition from the 79F you are parting out?

        Bob, I might but I'll have to check. It might be a day or three, as I'll have to dig for them and I'm in the middle of a 'inside' project that I need to get done before SWMBO decides to skin me...

        If I do, I can also polish them for you for some extra bucks as I have a buffing setup.

            Guys, I really appreciate the response. Foreda,you have some nice bikes there. If you think you might have a pair that is already polished,I would be interested in getting a look at them. Steve,let me know if you come across the set you mentioned,when you get a chance. Thanks again,

              I have the left side cover I can let go.. Already polished and ready to install. Let me know if you are interested.

                Bob, I've got a will-clean-up-nicely timing cover, but the spare alt cover I've got has a couple of semi-deep scratches in it. The scratches could be sanded out and the cover repolished, but that will change the contours slightly. Enough to notice?.... well, some might, some might not. If you're looking for cherry, this ain't it.... sorry.

                      Foreda, is the left side polished cover still a option for me? I threw a PM your way. If you could get back to me and let me know that would be most appreciated. Frugaltech, I really do'nt like to try and assign a value to items of others. If you could PM me and propose a price that you would like to get out of your covers, that would be fine.

                        I had planned to just polish a set of covers for my project bike this winter. I have a set I polished and they look better than the NOS ones actually. Since then, I have come across another bike I may be picking up tomorrow. If I do, all my NOS covers are going on it. I can only deal with so much polishing so mine are off the table at the moment.
                        If anything changes, I'll let you have them for what I paid which is a really good deal.
