  • Tank and side cover emblems 80 XS11 G

Selling my 80 Standard and need the emblems. Anybody have any or know where I can get them? They're gold chrome on black. Don't want to spend $70- 100 apiece for them either.

    a set

A set from a 1981 special. Not perfect. Left has gold. Right is faded from the sun like most. No cracks. 25.00

This set cost me 100.00 and is not for sale. But look at a perfect set. MMMM

Mine have screws not glue on. What about the side cover emblems? Anybody have them or a line on them?

Right, 80 Standards screw on, motoman would know about the 81's cause he has one and had it new. As for the side cover badges, they can't be had even new, the only place I've seen them is from reproductiondecals and they run almost $50 each, but are actually plated metal rather than plastic. The have the tank ones too, but they are slightly smaller than the originals as they were molded from originals and when the metal cools it shrinks slightly. Normally when making those kind of things they make the mold just slightly oversize so that they will shrink to the proper size, something you can't do when making the mold from an original part, so it ends up slightly small.

Wow, those replicas are nice looking and the prices aren't too bad either.

I checked out the tank badges you mentioned from badge replicas and am looking for a pair for my 79 Standard. I did'nt see them listed. My bike has the gold with black and screw on.
