  • Looking for a replacement hard luggage cover

So went on a ride today and hit the most pot hole filled road I've ever encountered. At the end of it all it appears the bike hit some so hard that one of my hard luggage covers just jostled loose and is now lost in some 30 miles of heavily wooded back roads.

I'm hoping somebody has one sitting around that they aren't using. Please PM me if you do, I'd love to get a top back on this asap. Here's some pics of the missing right side, the fastener type, and a pic of the left side (that still has its cover). Thanks in advance guys!

    Lost Lid

Those are very hard to find. Easier, but not cheap, to get whole bags or even pairs of them.

I lost 1 several years ago, backtracked over the same route, & it was sitting on the shoulder, just a couple scratches, & this was on a pretty busy highway. Might be worth the ride.

        not them

I looked at your Pictures a little closer and I have a different set. The binkers are mounted in the bag on mine. My lids look so close but i dont think they will work.

Thanks for taking to time to send the pics. It's exactly as you predicted, not the same size. Those are more narrow than the one's I have on there currently.

Took a ride this weekend and no luck in recovery. Oh well, anyone have any experience working with fiber glass? I'm thinking it's possible to make a mold of the remaining cover and make a replacement from that. Anyone done this before? Maybe there's an old thread up about it?

                  fiberglass

that's actually not a bad idea...material would proly cost you around $25, and you could make a mold out of cardboard...I'm re-doing floor in my fiberglass fishing boat and working with fiberglass and epoxy resins is very simple, plus there is a lot of info on the net on how to do it.

you can even get everything in home depot(well except mold release spray, but I'm sure you could substitute it with something else...)

                    cardboard?

How could you mold from cardboard? Get it wet or something? Some tips there would be awesome.
