I'm also short these for a set of carbs. I've got a source for the balls (in fact, I already have those) and bought some springs but they didn't have enough tension. I ordered some different, stiffer springs today, if these work out I'll be able to fix you up....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

The balls can be had from any local hobby shop that does RC cars. They are the same as the ball bearings in some of the small transmission gears. HTH1980 XS850SG - Sold

Yeah, the detent balls are easy to find... it's the springs that are tough. They are really stiff and finding something small enough that can overcome the tension from the enrichener plunger springs is the trick.
Yamaha still lists these as a good part... at $9 each! That must make them worth about $1k per pound...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
