  • Help! I need a 79 Special rear caliper piston.

    I'm looking for a rear brake caliper piston for a 79 Special, new or used.

    You can get new stainless steel ones on ebay for $25+ shipping.

      I have the 1980 still in he caliper.will that work?
      1980 midnight xs1100 Rebilt cosmetically
      1980 midnight xs850 bagger

        I need the rear piston and the only ones that I could find on eBay are for the front. I did find a SS one from a seller by the name of hvccycle that measures 38mm x 41.25mm. My piston measures 38.2mm x 41.25 so I don't think it will his will work.

          The Specials use the same piston in the rear caliper that the standards use in both front and rear; so the one you want is the HVC200106-5

          They don't specifically list that for the Special rear caliper, but that's the one you want...
