1980 xs 1100 vetter fairing radio pod

I need a radio pod for my 1980 xs1100 (venturer?) has a yamaha/vetter fairing, think it was dealer installed, would really love to find a radio pod in good shape for it, any ideas? thanks a bunch

Only actuall VENTURER was the 81. The 80 had pretty much the same set-up. The side case lids on the 80model open end-ways and the 81 lids opened sideways. Not sure, but don't think the 80 dresser came with the oil cooler. ALL 81 Venturers did have the oil cooler. Your other model is the Venture or Venture Royale......minus the er. The stereo housings are abundant out there, an easy find. Just be careful looking at pics of ones advertized, as some are for the Pacifico fairing and is lots wider and flatter. The fairings and cases on these models were dealer installed........out of the crate with the rest of the bike...

Gotta ask then,how do you tell the difference? Do you have dimensions?

I was wondering the same thing... I was of the understanding that the Pacifico fairing was designed to have the radio and speakers mounted directly in the dash of the fairing. There are 2 circular cut-outs for the speakers, and the radio goes in the center... I know the Vetter Cyclesounds unit was copied by a few other mfg's, but I don't think any of them go to the Pacifico.

I have it sitting in the 1980 Vetter fairing. I can take some pics for you if needed. the radio and speakers are attached. Thay are probably non working but the container (pod?) seems to be in good shape. You can have it for the cost of shipping if you want it. Let me know.
