  • WTB: XJ1100 pipes & exhaust

I've got a set of 4-1 exhausts on my XJ1100 & the pipes are pretty rusty. The muffler looks good and the exhaust outlet is 1.5" . I'm not sure of the brand of pipes these are but looking at photos, they look like a MAC? The PO did not keep the original pipes...

I'd like to find some of the Spaghetti Jardine pipes, Kerker or even stock mufflers & pipes would be nice. I'm going to rebuild the carbs and need to plan what to do for the jetting & even the intakes. I've got some pods coming but I'm still on the fence deciding what way to go with the carbs. Having a nice set of pipes will be the key to the rest of the decision. I do want to be able to use the center stand so can't use pipes that will interfere.

PM me if you have something that would be interesting..

    Thanks,

    Gary

A lot of the aftermarket pipes need the centerstand removed. The kerker I have will easily allow you to stick it back on for maintanence. I just slip 2 long bolts through and pop it up on there. You just can't ride with it because it dangles...

I like my Jardines, they don't look bad, have a good sound (at least in my opinion) and performance is pretty good. On top of that, they don't interfere with oil changes, or with the center stand. I am trying to decide how I want to refinish them though, as they are showing their age. I'm trying to decide between the chrome type ceramic coating, spending the money for true re-chroming, or going with black ceramic paint. I know that last option would still allow me to have them media blasted and still do either of the first two, and is probably far far cheaper, but I'm not sure I want to black out my exhaust. I know getting them chromed would look best along with being most expensive, but the ceramic coating may extend the life of the exhaust significantly over the other options.
