  • Xs1100 sought by new member

    Hello all,
As I do not see a specific "New Member's" Thread here I am hoping I am not performing a faux pas by making my first post here in the "Wanted" section. I felt it appropriate as I am seeking a decent XS1100 project as my build for the winter.
I think I would ideally prefer a "G" model, but I am not choosy. Condition would, ideally, be something along the lines of a bike that has been ridden but put away with thoughts of restoration, but just never finished.

I would also say that it is important to me that the bike have a clear title, a motor that is NOT seized, and it would be absolutely wonderful if the bike were in the Rocky mountain region. (Colorado preferred, but Wyoming, New Mexico, Western Nebraska,Western Kansas, etc. would be manageable as well.)

I am looking for a project bike so I am not really concerned so much with cosmetics or condition, MUCH more concerned with PRICE , completeness, and location.

I am very, very strapped for cash following a fairly nasty divorce. This project is something of a therapeutic endeavor as well as a way to get back in the wind after a 13 year, externally imposed, involuntary moratorium on motorcycles. I am hopeful to find an XS1100 priced between:

"PLEASE Come get this thing out of my garage, it's been sitting here gathering dust and I want it to go to a good home" -to- you tell me.

I thank you all for reading this, and I look forward to hearing what you all might be willing to part with.

    EDIT TO ADD:
Please feel free to contact me via PM's or via my e-mail ( jonymacmadcap@gmail ) thank you guys....

Thanks Lance. The second link has been removed and the first is a Maxim. Nice bikes to be sure, but I am REALLY looking for an XS1100 for my project...thanks for your response though. I really appreciate it.

        Hi Jony,
Welcome. Sounds as though you want a Standard. Hope one turns up close enough for you. Craigs list and Kijiji are both good sources to check.
Keep checking here too of course.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I am indeed , quite enamored with the Standard or G model. This would be my first choice, but an XS1100 Special would be fine in a pinch as well...I just love the bike. As an enthusiast, I have had Honda CB's Suzuki GS's and have ridden more than my share of KZ's as well. But the XS has eluded me. Since I am enjoying my newly found freedom, I have determined myself to find THE bike I can find for not very much $$$ and take the winter to lovingly restore/customize so that I have my perfect bike (or nearly so) come this spring....thanks for the sources to look into, I will indeed take advantage of them, but I am really hoping that I can find a forum bike as people here really seem to both know and appreciate the bike and I wish also to become part of a community that encourages the ressurection of these wonderful bikes.
