  • Handlebar Stop/Run Switch

Looking to replace the stop/run switch assembly on my '80 1100sg. Start button contact seems to have gone bad. Got a temp fix hoseclamped on their right now, but that's just unsightly!

Anyone got an extra they'd like to offload? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! The start button is really easy to fix. If that's the only problem, just open it up and repair the contacts. All it really is is a ground contact to the housing, which then grounds to the handlebars. The button and spring can be purchased from Yamaha (and many other places too) if they are missing.

Hey man, thanks for the tip! I could fix it up if I really wanted to, however the whole unit has really suffered from some nasty corrosion damage; outside had brake fluid spilled on it at some point I believe. Looking for a new one in decent shape!
