  • Vetter saddlebag mounts

Looking for the bracketry for mounting Vetter saddlebags to an xs11 standard. I am looking for the brackets that mount the sort of triangular shaped bags that didn't have a traditional lid on top. Instead the bags opened from the side like early Goldwings (I think). Thanks

The triangular bags are NOT Vetter. Vetter bags ALL look the same (like the goldwings). The Triangular bags are Samsonite. They are much harder to find than the Vetter ones though. The Samsonite ones are what Bob Jones had on Ol' Blackie though.

Ohhh. I had a set of samsonite bags that was different, they looked like suit cases. But now that you mention it the mounting system was similar to the Goldwing style triangular bags. The top box had a foam pad on top and an angled shape also. Yes that is the bracketry I am after.

Now I'm confused... When you say "triangular bags" do you mean the bags themselves are triangular, or the mounting bracket is triangular? The Vetter bags are rectangular, with a lid that faces outward at an upward-facing agle. The Samsonite bags look like suitcases, but have a triangular mounting bracket. I don't think the Goldwings ever had Samsonite bags on them though...

This is the Vetter mounting bracket:

        It goes with these bags:

Is this what you're looking for, or the Samsonite version, like this:

The Vetter... But either may work

I am going to weld plates to them for different luggage. I was talking about the Vetters. They are angled when viewed from the rear, that is what I meant. Some Goldwings had them. I could probably make the Samsonite setup work too.
