  • Need 78 Right Sidecover

I need the right (fuseblock) sidecover for a 78.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

Do you have a broken one that could possibly be repaired? I've been experimenting with side cover repairs and so far it's looking good.

I do, I have the right side, but it is in pretty rough shape.

It is missing a piece and the locking tab just broke off. (not the pin, but the whole bottom of the sidecover).
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

I can replace missing sections but it sounds like this one would be too much work...

Yeah, it wasn't very good to start with. The left one is perfect, just the wrong color.

I may be able to take a picture of it.

I was able to replace the a tab on my Virago side cover and I'm working on the locking lug on a left XS11 cover. I got started on this when I found the old left cover in a box. I thought it was long gone...

What are you using for the lug repair? I fixed mine with superglue and baking soda, and it wored great! I have a detailed drawing of the locking tab itself if you're interested. OFC, all my work was for a Special, but I think that portion is the same on all the versions of the left covers.

Thanx for the offer but I'm only doing it for sport. I have a good set of side covers. I went to pull the side cover latch off my parts bike only to find a full locking lug snapped off in it.

I'm using industrial epoxy that I use in my business. This stuff sticks to anything and sets up hard.

Anyone notice the locking tab on an XS11 side cover looks just like the old Harley-Davidson #1 logo?
