  • Rear Brake Rotor

Need a rear brake disc to fit a 1979 Special.
Must be clean, with no warping, no heavy wear or deep scoring, ( I already have one of those mounted...)
I believe that the rear rotors were the same pattern across all the years, with the addition of slots in the later models. If I am wrong here, maybe someone can chime in..
I have looked on eBay but I really need someone to find me a "good 'un" since it is impossible to access the quality of these items on the Bay..
Let me know what you have..

    PM,

    Thanks,

    Gareth.

Yes, the brake rotors are the same front or rear on all years for the solid ones. On the slotted, the left side rotors have the slots at a different angle. I'm not sure the angle is anything but a visual effect.

I have some slotted rotors. I'll check them out for runout. No deep gouges or anything, but have not checked for runout.

I bought some off the bay once and yes, got a warped one.

      Hi Gareth,
FWIW, the one-piece front rotor from a post '77 XS650 is identical to the XS11 rotors, as is the front rotor from a 500cc single.
NOT the XS750/850 rotors though, they are ~1" smaller in diameter.

        Got 'em

I have brake rotors in perfect condition and I also do rotor grinding to make them like new if the gouges aren't too deep. $25 plus shipping...
