Hello Everyone. I am in the market for a fairing with lowers, a trunk and a light bar for my 80G. TIA

    1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
    1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
    1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)

I'd suggest Craigslist for the fairing, as shipping those things can get prohibitively expensive. All Windjammers are the same, and will work on ANY bike, but you have to be sure you get the right mounting bracket. This guy sells NOS vetter brackets (and other things), and has one for the XS1100. Be careful buying the lowers, as many people try to sell them as generic, fits-all lowers, but in reality, they are bike-specific, just like the mounting brackets. Trunks are all the same too, so Craigslist is good for those (that's where I got mine). Just be sure you get the rubber Bunkees, still available directly from Craig Vetter's website.
    1980 XS850SG - Sold
    1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Thanks CatatonicBug , for the valuable tips and sites. I am currently closing a deal for a fairing with lowers from a fellow XSive. I didn't think about isolating the trunk from vibration with the bunkees so I really appreciate that bit of info. Would the fairing require the same treatment? By the way sweet looking MNS you have there.

Thanks! The fairing requires no isolation, because it mounts DIRECTLY to the frame. It becomes PART of the frame, and is a solid item. I'd suggest reading up on the mounting instructions in Vetter's site, so you can be sure to do it safely. It's really not too hard. I actually had to create my own wiring pigtail for the trunk, since mine didn't come with one. The 4-pin Molex connectors I got at Radio Shack snapped right into the existing hole, where the original plug was mounted. No modifications needed. If you need more info on that, let me know.
