Yep, that washer is the first thing to get lost on these bikes it seems. Tends to stick to the filter and get tossed with the old one. Then they never notice it not there when installing. Then an owner who does PM on them gets to find the filter spring buried inside the filter and realize it was filtering nada the whole time.
