    81 special rotor

In need of a right front rotor for my 81 special, the slotted ones. I am sure this is also made of that rare metal unobtanium. I thought JCWhitney had it, but they only list one part so it must not be slotted. Mine is warped out of spec. No one local I have talked to can turn it.

    Thanks for any help.

Thanks Cokeman, I will certainly keep that in mind. Hoping for the slotted ones like are on it though.

The slotted ones turn up on Ebay (but at big prices) but you might consider a set of non-slotted and have a machine shop cut the slots to match. Not a big deal with a mill....

Thanks for all the replies, I got a set of slotted pretty cheap on "the bay". Now I just hope they are in as good of shape as advertised.

            I'm just pesimistically optimistic.

Yes I still have them. Shipping is a killer though account of the weight. I've had a couple of guys interested but the shipping was too much. Where you located?

                  80xstenn,

I have one decent rotor I do not need now. It was on the left side of the bike and it was at about .005 runout, not great, but not going to give your bike the hippity hop feeling when you try to stop like mine had. So it would be the wrong rotation of the slots for your right side.

If your interested let me know, it will just sit on a shelf here otherwise.
