  • WTB Centre Stand - South Pacific

    Hi,

Need a centre stand... Sooner rather than later as I have someone about to reweld the mounts back on to my frame where they are supposed to be so if someone in Australia or New Zealand has one for sale then please let me know.

Failing that I'll have to bite the bullet and pay really bad exchange rates and grab one from the US

    Cheers

Good question.. What is it for anyway? I don't have one on my MNS, but I have never seen a reason why I would want one (except for aesthetic purposes, to bring it back to OEM condition). Makes things a lot easier to get under the bike to work on it when it's leaning over on the side stand.
        1980 XS850SG - Sold
        1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Centre stand makes it 10 times easier to remove a wheel... Just put it up on the centre stand and remove the rear, or prop up the front and remove the front. Or in the case of my parts bike... Prop up the front and remove both wheels.

Ahh, gotcha. I just use my bike jack to lift the whole rig up off the ground for that stuff.

Will the stand from my 80 xs11 special interchange with his bike? I'd be willing to sell it.

Thanks for the offer but after talking to a few people I've decided to dump it and remove the mounts.

                Cheers
